Do research and write a blog post about [cloud service]:

I choose: iCloud

1. What is [cloud service]?

iCloud is a cloud storage and cloud computing service from Apple Inc. launched on October 12, 2011. As of July 2013, the service had 320 million users.

2. How does [cloud service] store your data?

This cloud service provides its users with means to store data such as documents, photos, and music on remote servers for download to iOS, Macintosh or Windows devices, to share and send data to other users, and to manage their Apple devices if lost or stolen.

The service also provides the means to wirelessly back up iOS devices directly to iCloud, instead of being reliant on manual backups to a host Mac or Windows computer using iTunes. Service users are also able to share photos, music, and games instantly by linking accounts via AirDrop wireless.

It replaced Apple’s MobileMe service, acting as a data syncing center for email, contacts, calendars, bookmarks, notes, reminders (to-do lists), iWork documents, photos and other data.

3. Where are their servers located?

One of Apple’s iCloud data centers is located in Maiden, North Carolina, US.

Task 2 : Permanence (30-40 mins)
Discuss the different threats that would apply for the service that has been chosen for you. Refer to lecture notes : http://j.mp/SKM4263-04

4 Facts About Color

4 Facts About Color:

  1. Blue makes you hungry: Researchers says that red and blue are the most appetizing colors. On the other hand, the color yellow is the least appetizing color.
  2. Blue is the first color a baby sees: Recent studies have shown that infants as young as 2 weeks of age can already distinguish the color blue.
  3. Colors don’t exist! They’re all in your head.
  4. Black is not a color! Well, it depends actually:The answer to this question actually depends on where you are coming from. You also have to remember that there are two color theories. First is the additive color theory where we perceive color as lights. In this case, if there is no light, there is no color. We can say that black is the absence of all colors and this usually happens when there is no light. No light means no colors hence black. On the other hand, we also have the subtractive color theory where we perceive colors as coloring pigment or agents such as paints. In this case, black is a color.
